Registration
Q: Can I make changes to the roster after I have registered online?
A: Yes. You can make changes to the roster until 5/18/08 by submitting a revised online registration.
After 5/18/08, you can make changes during Registration night.
Q: Do we have another payment option instead of sending a check?
A: You can do a wire transfer. Please contact elina.lorenzo@verizon.net for wiring instructions.
Q: How many games does a team's designated umpire need to officiate in order for a team to
receive a refund of their umpire deposit fee of $ 400?
A: All umpires have to officiate all games assigned to him/her (2-3 games a day) and attend the
mandatory umpires meeting on Friday evening at the Hyatt Hotel in order to qualify for a full refund
of your umpiring deposit.
Q: Will the umpires deposit of ($400) be returned in cash or check?
A: All teams whose umpires have met the criteria for the refund will be sent refund checks within 2-4
weeks after the tournament has concluded.
Q: What is the minimum age for an umpire to officiate adult matches?
A: There is no minimum age, except that the umpire has to be qualified to officiate adult matches;
otherwise, a junior umpire can officiate junior matches.
Q: How will I know if my team has been accepted?
A: The manager will receive a confirmation via email once your check has cleared and your team's
application status will appear in the Master Team Sheet posted on this web site.
Q: I have extra players in addition to the 16 that can be listed on the roster, can I add them to the
roster?
A: The maximum number of players for each team is 16 (11 in Under 13, Under 11 & Under 9
Divisions). There will be no exceptions, since it would be unfair for other teams. Extra players could
play for other teams needing players. Players looking for teams can go to the "Need a Team" page
available on this site.
Q: Is there a registration form I can download and mail it in like in previous tournaments?
A: No. We have enabled Online Registration for all divisions.
Foreign Teams
Q: Do foreign nationals on a domestic team need to have USFHA Numbers?
A: They do not. They will have to show their passport upon request.
Q: Do foreign players need proof of liability?
A: No, however, each player has to sign the "International Players Waiver Form" before their team
first match.
Q: Are Canadians required to have a visa to enter this Tournament?
A: As indicated by Homeland Security, if Canadians come for just a weekend, they do not need a
visa to enter the U.S. Please check to ensure that this policy has not been revised or changed.
Youth/Minor Divisions
Q: Does the Under-9 division have short corners even though they have no goalies?
A: They do.
Q: We do not have all our Medical and Emergency forms signed yet, can we send them later or
bring them with us to Registration Night?
A: You can send your application and fees now, and make sure you mail those forms so as to arrive
by 5/20/08 or you can submit them at registration night.
Q: My child is underage for a higher division, can he/she play in that division anyway?
A: Players can play in a higher division. Parents need to take into consideration that the higher
division matches could be more aggressive and played at a faster pace requiring better skills and
reflexes to avoid any injuries. However, by no means, is a player only allowed to play in a lower
division.
Q: Do Minor Divisions (U-9, U-11 and U-13 mixed) have to pay $400 umpire fee?
A: Minor Divisions do not need to pay this fee or list an umpire.
General
Q: What are the directions to the tournament site?
A: Directions are available on the directions tab available on this site.
Q: Will the organizers provide transportation from the hotel to the fields?
A: Unfortunately, all teams, players and umpires have to secure their own transportation to and from
the tournament site.
